Between land and sea: new traditions of Sardinia
Sometimes good news comes from the sea!
Fra terra e mare: nuove tradizioni di Sardegna
Certe volte le buone notizie arrivano dal mare!
IL PRIMO E UNICO PANE CARASAU IMPASTATO CON L'ACQUA DI MARE DELLA SARDEGNA
The first and only Carasau bread kneaded with Sardinian seawater
Made thanks to an agreement with a Sardinian company that has developed and patented a water extraction process that takes place in the Gulf of Cagliari, in an area where the water is of high quality without any harmful substances.
Once the water has been extracted from the sea, it undergoes ultrafiltration and cold sterilization processes. In this way, the water keeps its saline composition that is not altered during the purification phases.
We have strongly reduced the presence of Sodium
Seawater is 86% sodium chloride, while common salt contains 99%. Compared to products using common salt, those made with seawater contain less of these substances, which are responsible for increased blood pressure. The WHO (World Health Organisation) also recommends reducing the amount of sodium in processed foods. For more info follow this link: https://www.cuore.iss.it/prevenzione/sale
ABBIAMO UNITO DUE ELEMENTI: LA TERRA E IL MARE
We have combined two elements: Land and Sea
Out of this encounter came Marasau, a carasau bread that is both traditional and innovative in its composition.
Rich in flavour and poor in Sodium.
No salt is added to the dough as it is already present in the seawater.
