Thiesi is the natural capital of Mejlogu, a sub-region of Logudoro, whose name means ‘place in the middle‘ due to its central position within the ancient kingdom of Sorres.

The landscape, rich in holm oak, downy oak and cork oak forests, is a perfect route for nature trails.

Of particular interest is the cork oak forest of Su Padru, where you can walk along many paths, in direct contact with the natural vegetation.

In the town centre, there is a significant presence of churches, including the Parish of Santa Vittoria, built at the end of the 15th century in Catalan Gothic style, and the shrine of Our Lady of Seunis. Inside the museum named after it, you can visit the permanent exhibition of the great painter Aligi Sassu.

The economy is characterised by the great success of the supply chain complete with the processing of ewe’s milk, imported from all over the island and transformed into cheeses for the national and international markets.

Among the artisanal activities, in addition to the production of bread, sweets, and liquors, the production of pasta stands out, in which we are directly involved.
